Students taking the Louisiana course are required to provide their LA DNR Number during registration.
Course expiration and extensions
Louisiana courses expire after 90 days.

Exam requirements may vary by course option.
Boat-Ed: Quizzes include 10 questions. Students must score 70% or higher to pass. Students have unlimited attempts. The final exam includes 75 questions, and students must score 80% or higher to pass. Students have unlimited attempts.
Boat-Ed+: The final exam includes 75 questions. Students must score 80% or higher to pass.
After completing the course
After completing a Louisiana course, students can immediately print their temporary certificate.
The student will receive an email from the state with instructions on how to print their permanent certificate.
Age and operator requirements
It is illegal for anyone under the age of 16 to operate a personal watercraft.
It is unlawful for a person who owns or has charge of a personal watercraft to knowingly permit a person under the age of 16 to operate the personal watercraft.
It is illegal for a rental company to rent a personal watercraft to anyone under 16 years old.
Replacement cards
Replacement cards are handled by the state of Louisiana.
To replace a lost, destroyed, or damaged Louisiana Boater Education Certificate, students should log in to their Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries account.
